Well...it's been awhile hasn't it? Many of you may have wondered where I went...all I can say is that I have been living life, and sometimes it gets in the way of other things. It can also de-motivate you...which is where I have been the last few months. In a very non-motivational state...going through the motions of everyday life, trying to figure out what I want to do next with this journey.

Usually I would write a long post about my reflections on 2011 and what I look forward to in 2012...but I couldn't even bring myself to do that...at least not yet. I am trying to figure out these days, what actually does motivate me. What things I should be taking time for, and what things I shouldn't waste my time on at all. This blog isn't one of the latter...I am finding that as I figure out what exactly my mojo is, this is the place I want to share it.

So in New Year's-ish style...let me start off with the fact that I am working on taking out the trash in my life. Lightening the load per-say and striving to get a handle on the things that matter most to me and my family so that I can in turn share that with the world. Leave my mark the way I really want to leave a mark...not just going through the motions. Instead, rather taking the time to put the changes in place that I need to, in order to see results, and reap the rewards that come from them.

I hope that the next year brings you the change that you want to see in yourself and the world around you. As someone close to me just quoted..."You have to want it, it's about taking baby-steps." I am trying my best to learn from previous failures and take those words to heart now, even when they feel more like a low blow than motivation. I do hope that you will join me in my journey, hold me accountable when I don't do what I say I am going to, and share your own trials and tribulations along the way. We all have a story...this is the beginning of my next chapter...let's call it 2012.

My goal for this blog in 2012 is to share something with you every single day...no matter how I feel, no matter what is going on. So check back, & maybe, just maybe, you'll find something that motivates you.

The Wedding Shoes...

Three generations of brides...and now soon to be four! I was approached at the Strawberry Swing Craft Fair by an Aunt of the Bride-to-Be who had a vision of a meaningful wedding shower gift that she hoped I could bring to fruition.

Her mother, the bride shown above in the middle, is giving the Bride-to-Be her wedding shoes as a gift. Well, the Aunt thought it would be neat to take a picture of those shoes, and then inset the pictures of the three former generations of Brides. On top is the Bride's Mother, than her Grandmother (who wore the shoes) and lastly her Great-Grandmother.

I was immediately inspired because I tend to be sentimental that way and this is the end product that I delivered to her this evening. I hope the Bride-to-Be cherishes this just as much as her Aunt did making it. And what a great idea for other heirloom items you don't necessarily want out on display, but can show off in the form of a clever photograph and still be displayed in fashion!

New Phone = Fun Apps

So...we recently upgraded our phones...and now there is no going back! To be honest, I could have survived with my cracked, ancient blackberry awhile longer...it wasn't a big deal. But we decided after two years with out current phones and the strange things that they kept doing suddenly that we would go ahead and make the move to something newer...and that meant a touch screen for me which I never cared about ... until NOW! I have been having way too much fun playing with the photography applications for Android...and these are just a few of the results! Keep an eye out for more fun pics like this...cause I am officially addicted!

Sydney turned 3 years old back on the 12th and since Dad had to work that day, we took a visit to the Fire Station so she could open her gift with both of us. This is a 'balance' bike. Itt has no pedals and the kids learn to balance and then pick up their feet and coast, eliminating the use of training wheels. Once she has outgrown it, we will go trade it in for the next step up, a larger bike with pedals!

Remembering . . .

Remembering, because I will never forget where I was when I heard the news...the news that our friend and my husband's co-worker John had been injured in a house fire...and the news that came shortly after which confirmed he had passed.

I still have that text on my phone...and the news story on my DVR that aired the following day. I think of that final look that my husband gave me from across the truck as he shook his head confirming the news that John hadn't made it. Or when I yelled out and dropped to my knees because my immediate thoughts were on his wife and two small children. I remember repeating over and over, 'What is she going to do? What is she going to do?' as Matt wrapped his arms around me and we both just sat their and gathered our thoughts.

We were camping...just north of Kansas City with some friends. Matt ironically had just been discussing the details of his profession and such when we got the call that someone had been injured. Not even thinking it was anything severe, we went about our business, knowing that we would get more information in the morning. But it was the random email that came through my blackberry asking for prayers that immediately triggered the lump in my throat as I realized that this wasn't anything minor.

And then there it was, the unbelief pouring over our faces and in our voices. We put Sydney in her car seat and everyone helped as we gathered our belongings up and tossed it all in the truck. Hugging them good-bye and heading straight back to KC and directly to the Fire Station knowing that even if we couldn't do anything, just being there, with our Fire family was where we needed and wanted to be. To find out exactly what had happened and to stay as long as we needed to make sure we saw and hugged everyone we could. To remind them and ourselves that we were not alone in this tragedy.

The days following up to the funeral now seem like a blur. Everything happened so fast and at the end of a very long week, we woke up feeling empty. Empty because the chaos was now over. Now it was time to try to get back to normal, but normal doesn't exist. I think about John and Amber and the kids every time Matt leaves for work. Every time we visit the fire stations and see any of our friends. Your head goes to places you wouldn't normally send it as it also subconsciously tries to prepare you for the worst too. You selfishly think to yourself how lucky you are that it wasn't you...and then immediately feel the guilt of thinking that thought, and the heartache of knowing that someone else has to go through that kind of pain instead.

Tonight we gathered with our Fire Family in front of the memorial at station 71 and held a moment of silence for John, marking the one year anniversary. And following the tears that most of us still can't hold back, we hugged each other again, and then stayed and talked, and laughed, and enjoyed just being there. And as I stood back and watched, I stared at the smiling picture of John staring back at everyone, knowing in my heart that even though he is no longer with us, he is the reason that we are all so close now...and that is just one more reason why he will never be forgotten.

R.I.P. John Glaser ... you are forever missed and will always be remembered.

We took Sydney to her First Royal's game last night in celebration of her Grandpa's 61st Birthday...and I guess you could say in post celebration of her 3rd and a pre-celebration of her Dad's upcoming 34th. We had a good time, and she really like meeting their mascot Slugger.

So her glasses are here and we've been adjusting to them the last 2 weeks. Sydney has been really good about keeping them on and taking good care of them. Only every now and then does she ask to take them off, or fight me not to put them back on. But it helps that I have to wear mine 24/7...and that there are so many other people she knows who have them. I think it is making the adjustment easier. We start patching her good eye next week to help strengthen her weak one...we'll see how she does being a pirate for a little bit!

Matt and his friend Dave just ran their first Adventure Race back on the 7th of May. They came in just under the 8 hour mark and both said it was one of the hardest things they had ever accomplished. Needless to say they aren't talking about doing another one just yet...but I am sure they'll come around when the thought of doing it again isn't painful and the scrapes and bruises heal up! Way to go guys!

I took Sydney to the Optometrist last Friday because of a 'lazy' eye issue I had noticed awhile back that recently escalated. After several hours and an eye dilation later the doc finally explained what was going on and that she was going to need glasses. I have to admit I was completely bummed! I kind of assumed that with my family genes and Matt's she might end up in them someday...but not right before her 3rd Birthday! I didn't end up with my specs until I 4th grade, and I know how much of a pain they can be...so I guess I wasn't expecting my 3 year old to be dealing with it that much sooner than I had. But I am grateful that glasses are our only concern! We will have to patch her good eye for a bit to help the other one regain its strength, but all in all it could have been 10x worse and we are so glad it wasn't. So this evening we headed on up to Target and picked out these adorable purplish/pink specs. She wanted something green, but we just couldn't find another pair that fit as well... told her she can get those next time, since this won't be the last pair we end up with over the next umpteen years. Who wants to take bets on how long these last before they are broken or stretched! Thank goodness for warranty's!

Yep...I bought the big bag of eggs this year. Figured it would be fun and why not spoil the kid until my husband pointed out that she may get bored trying to find so many...which I hadn't really thought of...but it turned out she had quite a blast and probably could have searched all morning for them...we had quite the assembly line going on as she opened them up and dumped the contents into her very own 'treat' jar! You should hear the bribes coming out of this three year old all day trying to get her hands on that stuff!

If anything gets me in the mood for Spring it is a visit to a greenhouse. This past weekend Sydney and I were in Oberlin, Kansas and just outside McCook, Nebraska which sits just north they have a wonderful nursery called Common Scents. I had only been once before in the fall of 2008, but let me tell you, I couldn't stop taking pics of all the wonderful spring flowers and plants. There are way TOO many to share in this post alone...so be sure to check back this week and I will continue to share more 'spring' with you all. It will surely get you in the mood to plant something ... whether it be literally or figuratively.

So Matt and I went to Starbucks with Syd Saturday morning as a treat to ourselves. We are actually really good about making coffee at home and not indulging in the fancy stuff too often anymore. Well, we ordered a milk for Sydney and it came in this pint-sized coffee cup...that I will admit is totally adorable, but slightly sickening to watch your 2.5 year old drink from. Why you ask? Because it makes me immediately imagine her future coffee addiction...one I swore I would never have...and now, it's a daily endeavor.

Just made me wonder if Starbucks marketing was already thinking of the little ones they could rope in later if they got them started now just using the cups for the non-coffee drinks. Or the more realistic reason could actually be that they don't carry milk in anything but the large gallon jugs...and this is all they have to offer it in!

Matt and I thought we would tear out the small patio that sits at the bottom of our deck today. It it in a rather odd spot that didn't make too much sense, so we figured, lets take it out and seed it with new grass. And when we got it off...we found this.

An 8-10 Foot wide, 30 (ish) Foot deep well. A well that has probably been here since around the time the house was built in 1930. A well that we hope was just for spring water...and not sewage. A well that we now want to turn in to a RAINWATER BASIN to help nourish our flowers and garden for years to come. A piece of history that may still be usable in a very sustainable way! I'm excited, yet overwhelmed. What I thought would be a simple task...isn't as simple as we thought! More details to come as we figure out what and how to deal with it!

Matt, Sydney and I had a 'bad carb' overload last night at Old Chicago while watching the KU game...and now, after feeling like crap-o-lah the day after, we are gearing up to get serious and take a 30 Day Paleo challenge this April with our friends at CrossFit Matters.

I'll explain more when the challenge starts...but its a little easier to contemplate and gear up for when you have 30 days of meals all planned out for you! No excuses on this one...were up for the challenge and I am anxious to see how our new eating habits change our overall health along with our fitness program in the next 30 days and beyond!

Ahhhh....Spring!

Finally...Spring has arrived! Matt and I have been spending as much time as we can outside raking up the leftover fall leaves, pulling out patio furniture, pushing Sydney in her swing and soaking up as much Spring as we can because we know it goes just as fast as it arrives. I am anxious to see our new house in bloom and take in the neighborhood as everything changes.

It's hard to believe that this little one will turn 3 in just 2 months. Time has flown by and I can't even begin to tell you everything that is spewing from this munchkins mouth on a daily basis ... she is constantly on the go, go, go - dances and sings - counts and repeats her alphabet and loves to defy her parents by pretending she didn't hear what we just said ... never seen a toddler been asked to 'turn on' her listening ears as often as this one ... but I think its just because she likes the clicking noises we make when she goes to do it! Anywho ... I took this shot of her the other day as the sun was setting. I wanted to get a few of her in last year's Green Pea Coat ("It's not a peacoat mom, its just a coat!") before she won't fit in it at all anymore ... AND because St. Patty's Day is upon us this week and I love GREEN. So more pics of Syd showing off that green to come ... but this one is definitely my 2.5 year old going on 16 favorite!

SIMPLE DOODLE SHOES ... from EBONY to NAVY!

I don't normally review things publicly on my Blog...but this was just too far off not to share. Last year on our trip out to Colorado we came across a pair of PURPLE Simple Doodle Toddler Shoes for Sydney and fell in love with them immediately. I think I took way to many shots of her shoes that trip just cause I thought they were great! So I was overjoyed when my friend Tara mentioned that REIoutlet.com was having there 20% off one item sale and that these adorable Ebony Colored ones were on sale! I am a sucker for a good deal, and already knowing how much use we got out of Syd's first pair, which she is actually still wearing, I was really excited because after I applied the 20% off coupon and a gift card we still had lying around...I paid all of $14.00 with shipping for her next pair!!! AND I was even more excited to see that they had arrived today...but how do you go from this color that they show online....

TO THIS???!!!!

I mean, that's WAY off! They look more of a dark navy color rather than the light color you see above. I love these shoes, and its not the end of the world by any means but they definitely are not what I thought they would be...especially because it lists them as a girl's color.

So, I just had to share. I highly recommend these shoes if you've got yourself a very active toddler like I do...but just know that this Ebony color shown above is not what you may get!

Matt and I finally got around to going back to the bank with Sydney this weekend to open up her own savings account. The last time we were there, we didn't have everything we needed...and it took us about 9 months to remember to go back and finally do it! We took Sydney's piggy bank and emptied out everything into a jar. We explained to her that we were going to take her money and put it into an account just like Mommy & Daddy do with theirs. She sat and colored at the bank and when Margie took the jar and brought it back empty Sydney asked if it was in her "account". That kid is just too funny...but sure catches on fast.

This morning we set up the small change boxes that the bank gave us, and I let Sydney take the change that Matt and I had accumulated and spread it out amongst the three boxes. I like the idea behind it...one to SAVE, one to SPEND, and one to GIVE. A lightbulb went off in my head and I am now brainstorming some ideas for her 3rd birthday this May...something we could do instead of accumulating toys and things that will just sit around the house...something we could engage all the kids in, that would be fun, but would give back or re-use things we already own.

More to come on that as I work out the details...right now I just love Sydney referring to the 3 boxes as her "account" ... too funny! Hoping to set her on the right path in regards to saving/spending money at an early age just like my Dad did for us. Priceless everyday tools everyone should have!

YOUcapture - TECHNOLOGY

I am constantly amazed at the technology that is created in this world. The things that I would have never imagined growing up with, are the things that Sydney won't know what to do without! We are a technological society...always advancing one step further with the next 'best' thing. At times, I find it absolutely amazing and can't get enough...at other times I am saddened at how much we have come to rely on some of it, but the reality, is that it isn't going away. So we all have to find a way to embrace it and make it our own. One of the best things I love about technology and its advancements would definitely be MUSIC! It is so nice to go online and download something I just heard, throw it on the iPod and blast it through out our house while Sydney, Matt and I dance around like fools! In addition to that, technology has brought me here...to the Blogosphere...a place that until 3 years ago, I didn't really realize existed. And then of course there is Facebook...where would we be without that. Actually, it took me awhile to join this cult...but once I did, I admit, I haven't thought of even turning back once. It has connected me to past friends and new ones, and I love that I get to share my life with them. (Don't get me wrong...I am bias against those who use it in crazy addictive ways...but that comes with the territory don't you think.) And lastly...my cell phone. Something I really don't know how I am going to prevent from keeping from Sydney...even in Elementary School, but I have to admit, I can see the ups and downs of it all. One being my ridiculous addiction to BrickBreaker! In the end Technology will never take the place of so many things, but I do believe that it is how you use the technology that makes all the difference.

Thought I would start out March with a little green...

Matt and I are suckers when it comes to using fresh garlic every chance we get. About a week and a half ago though, I noticed that we hadn't used it up fast enough and it was starting to bud. Having a wild hair, I decided to go ahead and plant a few of them...had no idea what I was doing...and didn't get around to researching it until tonight. Technically, they are growing too close together...so I will have to replant them later this week into a bigger pot...but otherwise, it sounds like a fairly easy plant to grow. Once it is matured, the stems/leaves will turn brown and die...which means it is time to harvest the garlic. It will have to hang upside down and dry out before use...but I am looking forward to the results.

I just found out today that our friend Sven from Germany lost his father Heinz to a heart attack back in January. My heart goes out to their family, I know that their hearts must feel an unexplained emptiness. I took a few moments to look back through the pictures I had from our trip, and the group shot we took with their family one night. This was the shot of the Sven and his father that I cropped from the image. It made me smile and laugh at game of charades we played that night trying to tell them stories of our own families back in the states. It was an evening I will forever cherish. - Heinz, it was a pleasure meeting you...your heart and soul lives on in your family and friends and the legacy you left behind!

What you are looking at is my new studio...a space that I have been waiting over 7 years to finally obtain. A space where I can leave the world behind and let my creative juices flow. The best thing about having spaces you love, is that you get to pour that love into them. And this space...this space is mine to do just that.

Matt approached me before the holidays to see if I might be interested in some office furniture that would eventually be disposed of. Well, he knew he didn't even have to ask, and that it was an immediate no brainer on my behalf. But the irony is that together we had the same idea in mind and came to an immediate conclusion - that it would make great initial pieces in a craft/studio area.

I'm a simple girl, with simple needs...I truly don't ask for much, if anything at all - part of my personality from being one of six kids. I was raised to appreciate what I had, even when I didn't understand why I couldn't have what I wanted. And what I realized, is that even though our family struggled to provide all the bells and whistles - I still had more than others I knew, and I grew up to realize that life isn't about money or all the things you own. Its about the relationships you make and the things you do to enrich your life and the lives of those around you. I especially don't like people asking me what I want for Christmas or my Birthday. It makes me uncomfortable, and frankly I rarely know what to tell people. It's not that I don't appreciate the gesture, but I just don't like the feeling and pressure it puts on me. Not to mention, as you get older, its not as much about all the stuff. I'd rather give a gift than receive one any day. The feeling I get from creating something personal goes above and beyond anything.

So I broke the rule...and I asked for something specific for Christmas this year. It was simple, but meaningful to me. I asked my husband to put the furniture together so that I could finally have the space that I envisioned. A space that would be my inspiration and creative outlet.

Now it may not look like much of anything yet...but that is the beauty of having a space that will always be a project in itself. I will continue to share this space as it unfolds and the projects that will spew from it in the future.

SPACES - theBEDroom

This space is the main reason I fell in love with our new house. Originally the attic, it was renovated into the Master Suite...complete with walk in closet and Master Bath. For Christmas this year, my gift to Matt was this chaise lounge. I wanted to create a space where he could relax and read, or work on his homework for class. And in the end I get to enjoy it too. Most of the windows on the wall have been around for a couple of years. Every time Matt asked if we could get rid of them, I would reply with a cheerful no, I knew they would find a place at some point. A few of them hung on the walls at the old house, but only when we finally got it cleaned up to sell...and since we moved in to the new house, I was trying to figure out where to put them. My mother-in-law presented the window above with the sticker of the Fireman holding a little girl to me as a Christmas gift this year. It holds meaning to me personally of course being married to a firefighter, with a daughter, and that was that, I knew I had to get them off the floor and up for display. With a little rearranging, I cleared the space along this wall and together we finally put them up yesterday and I love it. Now I have to figure out what I want to do with them...I would like to find some different fabrics/papers/photos to put inside a few...but don't want to do anything until I have a better idea of what decor direction the room will finally go...but at least I can say they are no longer leaning against the wall just taking up space.

Matt and I had a rare opportunity to work out this week ... together ... without child ... which was great! Our good friend Jim has opened a Crossfit Gym here in Kansas City ... and just recently shifted it from his home to an actual space. We went down to check it out and needless to say the warmth that exuded as we burned off some calories really felt good. I hope to finally get in to a routine and work harder this year to get some of the much needed weight off my body.

This post is dedicated to my Mom...born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I took this shot of her at Lambeau Field years ago with my brothers Travis, Tyson...our Uncle Toad, and Great Uncle Jack. It is by far one of my favorites of her. This was my first and only Packer game since...and was one of the best days we spent together. She was in her element...at home with the Pack. It was an amazing experience that I am happy to say we have to remember. I am not watching the Super Bowl with her today...but I know I will hear her across town as she cheers them on!

It is a goal of mine this Spring to build a compost pile at the back of our yard. Last month I became pretty diligent about throwing the compostable scraps we have from meals into a bowl and then taking them to the backyard where I have been piling things like our pumpkins, old plants etc until I can work on getting the actual compost pile made.

Well...as everyone knows, this stuff accumulates faster than you think sometimes and before I knew it, I would have a bowl on the counter spilling over. Well with the cold weather I wasn't moving it to the backyard very quickly. I had one small container under the sink with a lid, or I would cover the bowl with plastic wrap ... (another item I am going to try to stop using) ... but I just wasn't happy with how the process was going. I have been looking for the perfect compost-tin, one that I could keep under the kitchen sink or in our mudroom...that would hold enough so we wouldn't have to empty it daily, and tonight we found it on a random trip to Lowe's. This is a 6 gallon tin can with a lid and handle that I couldn't be happier about.

It is definitely a start ...

Matt spent his morning working the 2011 Polar Bear Plunge out at Shawnee Mission Park. Teams are formed and money is raised for the Special Olympics. I believe this year between the running race and the plunge itself they raised around $100,000. This was the first time that I actually came out and watched this event...bunch of people doing a crazy thing, but for a very good cause! Well...seems that the Happy place to be this week was in the bathroom! Sydney has finally hit a real milestone and is nearly, completely, absolutely potty trained! We haven't been pushing...we bought the potty chair...let her sit on it when she wanted to...would give stickers and treats if she went...some days she'd go...other days she wouldn't...but now, now we are very close to the real deal...and it makes me very, very, happy! Syd started daycare three weeks ago, and I have to say, she finally took the turn when she realized that all of her friends were going in the 'big' potty too. This is one of those posts you wonder if she'll hate me for...when at 16 I pull up her potty training picks to show her boyfriend...but you know what...when she's a mom, I think she'll look back and cherish that I took the time to blog about it all!

So...I will share a reality with all of you.

95% of the photography that you have seen on this blog was all produced with my lovely beaten up - very well used - point and shoot that you see above! Yep...sometimes it isn't all about the camera - its about what you do with it! I have had the wonderous priviledge of growing up amongst a professional photographer...my Dad. I have watched him take pictures since I can remember, and of course was one of the subjects of that photography many, many times over. As a photographers child you tend to get sick of your Dad telling you which way to pose, to put your chin down, turn only your head a little this way ... but the reality is that in the end it has been such a great experience and it REALLY opened my eyes to the joy of photography.

One of these days I will interview him and share how he became the photographer that he is today. I will tell you that he is one of the smartest, technical guys I know...who can walk into any room and immediately know what f-stop and exposure he is going to use before he's even gotten started. The knowledge he carries in his head is something I will forever be jealous of. I only hope that in the time we have remaining on this planet together I will finally begin to soak up a fraction of it so that I can have the opportunity of passing on the art of photography to my children in the event that they begin to see the world through the lens like I do.

On that note...because I have a professional as a father, I have had access to DSLR's regularly when I want to really explore the techniques and things they can produce. But the reality of my life is that I am on the go most of the time and I have always wanted to have a quick resource at my fingertips for when I am inspired by a photographic subject. I have had my Canon PowerSHOT SD550 Digital Elph for at least 6 years. It has been wonderful. I have been very impressed with its capabilities and what it has produced for me. It has traveled with me almost daily since my daughter was born, as well as across state-lines, through the air, and across the pond when visiting Europe. You can see the scratches and I can't tell you how many accidental falls it took and never once broke! It has captured so many memories in its lifetime, and I know it will still continue to capture more...but in a backup capacity...because it finally came time to upgrade.

This is my new Canon PowerShot S95!!! Yep...still in the point and shoot family...but this one feels like so much more. It has more manual functions and works like a miniature DSLR in many ways. There are things that I will never be able to do with a point and shoot...believe me I know that...but inspiration is what drives me to take the photos that I do and for me its about having a pocket sized tool to capture those moments when they unfold.

Here are just a few of the features that drew me to this camera...it shoots RAW and RAW/JPEG - the IMAGE STABILIZER - 28-105mm F2.0-4.9 lens and 3.0" LCD. This Canon is on the higher end of point and shoot cameras, but it should be with some of the features and capabilities that it provides. I was looking for a way to test my skills in a compact mode for everyday use when I don't have access to a DSLR. One of these days I will invest in one...or buy one off my Dad...but for me, right now, this is working just fine.

It started snowing yesterday afternoon and didn't let up until early this morning...I think we received at least 6"-8" total over the course of the storm. I hate it when it only dusts things over...if its going to snow than I really want to see snow...and this storm didn't disappoint. Syd and I spent the day at home...she woke up sick at 1:30 this morning...details I don't need to mention cause it wasn't pleasant...but daycare was closed anyway and it was nice to spend a day hibernating indoors with her...sick kid and all.

Is a new beginning ...

I'm at a crossroads right now...I need to find a job, and believe me I am looking, and applying, and interviewing, and applying some more...but I also have this constant feeling...that I should allow myself to finally be pickier about where I decide to work so that I don't just get a job to get a job. I know that may sound counter productive, and I am sure some of you are thinking that's silly especially in this economy when so many people are in need of work or find themselves searching after being laid off...all of those same things go thru my mind too...daily...but I am still torn with finding myself in an environment that I hate and wanting to leave after a few months anyway. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to make a career out of my creative side...hold out for a job that allows me to be creative and pay me for it...or just find a job. I know I will land where I am supposed to...I just don't know where that is yet. And for those of you that know me...being in limbo isn't exactly an easy thing for me to tolerate. I am used to knowing where I am headed and what is coming next...so this is an uncomfortable lesson, but one I am learning to cherish...because I think by being uncomfortable I am realizing that there is more to this journey than just money and I am slowly opening up myself to finally discover what that is for me and what it means for my future...

My husband brought me home a cup of coffee today after his run...and this was on the cardboard coffee slip. I love it...and so I cut it out and photographed it.

Got me thinking about MY STORY. What is my story...what has brought me to this point in my life and where do I see myself going. To be honest...I am at one of the biggest crossroads I think I have ever experienced in my life. I am struggling with who I am, the things I love, and how to mesh it all together so that I can finally feel that I am on a path to enjoying the rest of my life. I want to take full advantage of this opportunity staring me in the face and make the most out of it so that I can finally grow as an individual. I think I have been stuck for a long time not knowing how to re-energize myself and focus on the things that I truly enjoy. I have been taking a different look at things and trying not to just follow the typical path I normally would. That path is leading me in the direction I feel I truly should go...and so here I am. Turning to those individuals and things in my life that inspire me...the things that will propel me forward down the road I want to take...so that I can look back on this later and say...'Oh yeah, why didn't I think of this sooner!?"

One thing I have been wanting to do is to get to know other bloggers and readers out there. I know I follow a LOT of blogs...but I don't always have time to read everyones posts...let alone continue to share them with others. BUT I know that in some way they have inspired me along the way, and I want to share that inspiration with others. I also know there are some of you that read this site...who I don't know at all, or may have stumbled upon me just by chance. So, for the first time in the history of this BLOG, I am reaching out to my readers because I want to get to know you and share your story, business etc in an effort to help us all share and connect.
