Came across this book the other day at Paper Source on the Plaza and I just checked them out on line...I absolutely love this video and wanted to share...if it inspires you too, pass it on!

playingHOOKIE

I guess your not really playing hookie when you don't have a job to play hookie from...but I'm in the market for something Full-Time...I temped on Monday-Wednesday this week and just interviewed with one company yesterday...I have a meeting today with another staff agency who thinks they have a position I could interview with early next week so we'll see. I know something will work out, and I am hoping to secure something before the end of this month...but in the meantime, its nice to catch up on some things around my house and with good friends...Dana and I took a little side trip to Loose Park today and took a few shots of the recent snow...if it weren't so freaking cold we would have stayed and played a little longer.

YOUcapture - Doorways

Photo Numero 1 - A shot of the doorway leading to Sydney's room. We hung the Christmas Lights up last month and I just can't bring myself to bring them down...I mean why should I...kids think lights are fun and interesting, and that is what I want her to remember...fun and interesting ways of seeing the world...taking a different perspective on things and not always going with the grain. We just transitioned her from her Crib into her Big Girl bed the week of Christmas and she is doing great...its such a strange feeling knowing that she isn't the 'baby' anymore that I remember bringing home almost 3 years ago.

Photo Numero 2 - A shot of Sydney standing in our front doorway watching the snow come down this past week. We got hit with our first major snowstorm of the season and for once it has been fun watching her eyes light up at the thought of playing in it! She had a wonderful time this week sledding with her Dad and exploring the fluffy white stuff!

ORNAMENTdisplay

I do know that Christmas is over, and that the New Year has begun...but I slacked a bit at the end of the year so there will be some posts from Christmas that I still haven't had a chance to show you. One of my travel traditions over the years has been to collect a Christmas Ornament when we travel to places we have not been before. Years ago, Matt and I were in Colorado Springs...we took the train ride up Pike's Peak and in the gift shop I found one of these hand painted ornaments specific to the Mountain. That started a trend and ever since I have collected one of these style ornaments whenever I could find them on our trips. We now have one from Yellowstone National Park & Grand Teton National Park:Wyoming, Palo Duro Canyon:Texas, Dublin:Ireland, New Orleans:Louisiana, Winter Park:Colorado, Maui:Hawaii, Florence:Italy, Ketchikan:Alaska, and Nashville:Tennessee. I chose to hang them from our dining room fixture mainly because I have a handsy two-year old and these items are priceless to me. Not to mention I think they get much more attention from us and our friends and family. It's nice to have these little reminders of the trips we have been privileged to take and a wonderful heirloom that I intend to pass down to our children.
