Not only am I giving a plug to HANNIBALsafari here on the BLOG because we like these rooftop tents...but mainly because we think the reps for these guys ROCK! Dan & Susan Randle (their adorable boys Gus & Hank) and their friend Jason White introduced us to these systems at the OVEXPO last week. In all honestly, I don't even recall how exactly we ended up hooking up with these guys, most likely due to the kiddos we each had glued to our hips since Daycare somewhat fell thru, but before the end of the weekend, we were sharing beers and making plans to meet up to do some additional traveling...yeah you can imagine we had to twist eachother's arms to make that happen! All in all, they were definitely one of the highlights of the weekend...we had no expectations going into this trip, and leaving it now with friends who like to do the same things we do is just an added bonus! These guys are definitely OUTDOORSY inspirations with such positive energy! They make me want to get out, enjoy my surroundings and just be active!!!

Dan and Susan are based out of Omaha, Nebraska...which for us is only a short 3 Hour Drive from KC. Feels like nothing after that long drive to Arizona and the trips we take up North to Montana. Their full-time business is NEBRASKA KAYAK POLO and in addition to that they now get to drive around the wonderful U. S. of A. showing off their Hannibal Tent systems at EXPOS and events nationwide for interested buyers. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know them and we can't wait to drive up to Omaha to see first hand just how Kayak Polo is done in the Midwest!

They just had some additional exposure on NPR . . . check the story out HERE!

Yep, we were 'those' campers and took way too much stuff, including a pack'n play for Sydney...we figured we had the room in the truck and it would be good to have at night...but in will never come with us camping again!

Our Campsite...

These last three pics were of the area close by the Amado Territory Ranch where they held the OVEXPO. Too bad I forgot to take more pics of the actual place...but you can check out their website here. I really enjoyed the location and thought it worked well for the event.

YOUcapture - SWEET

YOUcapture - {SWEET}

{SWEET} this week were the LILAC blooms I thought I would miss while we were on vacation...but now they are frangrantly sweetening the house.

{SWEET} were the doughnuts that Sydney had while we were camping in Arizona.

And {SsssWwwEET} was this Jeep RIG and Setup that we saw at the Overland Journal EXPO while camping in the Amado Territory in Arizona...can't wait for one of our own.

So...on the last day of the OVEXPO we walked thru the Art's Studios on site including THE STRAW HOUSE and I found these lovely ceramic bowls. Turns out the studio owner/artist was starting to change out her display...and was anxious to get rid of I got all 6 for $20! AND on top of that...part of my purchase will be donated in support of those struggling in Haiti.

So actually it was a TripleWIN all around.

We rolled in to KC early this morning around 2am. As much as we would have loved to have stayed one more night in Arizona...we also wanted to get home as we continue inspections and preparations on the houses. Arizona was BEAUTIFUL...the weather right now was just right. Hot during the day, and chilly in the early mornings and evenings...LOVED IT! Much more to come on our travels...including pics of the event, the area, AND of course Sydney!

For those of you with a sense of humor...
maybe I should restate that...
For those of us with a sick-sense of humor...enjoy!

This past month Sydney has really taken to letters and numbers...I don't know if that is normal for a 23 Month old...I guess after she got past her colors she got bored, so if she's interested, I am going to feed the fire. I picked up some simple Number & Letter Flashcards at Wally World and this is what she will do...spread them out, lay on the floor and hold them up to us, ask us what they are, and then she repeats it and moves on. I don't know if I was really ready for this yet...she honestly surprises us everyday with things I wouldn't think she had picked up just yet...but here she is in all her glory and we love every minute of it.
