My kind of vintage...

Here are a few pics I found tonight while I was rummaging around in our office...this is my kind of vintage. One day I will get around to organizing all of these pics for everyone...they are too fun to look back on.

2009 Resolutions...

So here is the list of some resolutions I will try to keep this year...

1. FINALLY lose the weight...I am down 5lbs since we last spoke and plan on losing 25-30 more before Syd's first birthday...AND then keeping it off!

2. MAKE TIME FOR ME - I mentioned in my Reflections Post that I realized I can't take care of everyone else if I don't take care of me too...and this will be more about me. #1 is just an example of something I finally need to give my focus too as well as slowing down, relaxing, enjoying the little things that I have missed while busying myself with other projects. I am finally going to use the 100% that I put into every other thing I do - into myself!

3. MAKE MORE TIME FOR OUR RELATIONSHIP - Kids are wonderful, but when you have them, your independence is now shot and it makes less time for you and your significant other to connect...however Matt and I promised each other last year that we would strive harder to make time for not only ourselves in this chaotic world, but for eachother. I mean, we are the reason that Sydney is here, and we still need to be near the top of that priority list. So, date nights, notes, phonecalls, & some of that silly romantic stuff that keeps us oogling over each other after 9 years are in our future so that we don't push eachother away!

4. SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY - Last year was a whirlwind of things and this year, I am finally going to start taking the time for my family that they deserve and that I deserve to have with them.

5. TRAVEL again! - I loved pregnancy, but I am ready to get back out and see the world...and with Syd in tows of course for most of it! Hawaii is a great start next month for Trav & Hollie's wedding, St. Louis in March for St. Patty's Day, Montana/Colorado this Summer and maybe Vegas this fall for some 30th B-Days! And Matt and I have promised to ditch the kiddo and make a few weekends this year just ours.

6. GET CREATIVE - I feel like I left my creative juices behind in 2008 due to my busy schedule, but I swore in 2009 I would get back on track. I love making things and using my creativeness as an outlet for stress. My friend Dana is a great inspiration and I see some brainstorming sessions in the near future...

7. READ MORE - I used to read quite a bit and have gotten away from it. Not because I don't have the time, but because I tend to fill my time in other ways which I am now going to re-prioritize!

8. SPEND MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS - Family comes first these days, but next on the list is ALWAYS friends and I plan on making a better effort to make time to be with them too!

9. In order to accomplish #8, I will start by getting better about not leaving my cell phone at work when I leave or forgetting to charge it! I know this past year everyone probably labeled me as the Cell Phone Snob - thinking that I was always screening my calls because I was never there to answer...but actually, I just lost too many brain cells during child birth that I have literally lost my mind. So...the only defense I have is that you should always try my home phone too, because I never get a good cell signal when I am sitting on my couch...thank Sprint for building their campus just a few miles south of me yet leaving my street in a DEADZONE, but I will also be better about checking it more frequently!

10. HAVE FUN & ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT! I want to be more spontaneous about learning new things and just enjoy life. It is too short to dwell on the things that you cannot fix...and you have to make it what you want it to be. In the end it is about you and what you want, not about everyone else telling you how it should be. I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for all of us!

Red-Eye...say cheese!

Here are a few pics I took tonight of Sydney. She figured out that when the red-eye light on our camera shines in her face its time to smile!!! What a cheeseball...I luv it!

I found my Knees Pa!

Not only has Sydney figured out how to climb up and stand at the couch and in her crib and anything else she can get her hands she realized that instead of Army Crawling...she'd finally start using her Knees...and now, she's knows she is twice as fast!
