So, as most of you know I am a member of the FLAMIN HOTTIES.
We are a group of Fire Fighter wives who have come together in honor of our friends and families who have or are battling cancer.
Today, I got a last minute call from my Team Mate Lori who informed me that this PINK FIRE TRUCK was coming through town and that we should round up who we could to get a picture with them.
I honestly had no idea what to expect, but when I pulled into the parking lot and saw this...I couldn't believe my eyes. I quickly made an effort to learn more about their cause.
The Guardians of the Ribbon, a.k.a. PinkRibbonTour.com will drive a pink fire truck pulling a ten foot statue of a ribbon, 7400 miles across the United States and back. They are supporting all women, those healthy, those fighting and those we have lost to breast cancer.
They are spreading the "Cares Enough to Wear Pink" Campaign, asking the Public Safety and the local leaders of every community they visit to wear pink on the 25th, 26th and 27th of this Ocotber. The Guardians of the Ribbon are inviting all citizens across the United States to rally in support of the women of this Country. Help them use these three days to show your total support for these women. Just these three days to support 50% of the population which is not much to ask.
When they are done with the tour they will begin to build a pink fire station with bricks honoring the women who have been through cancer and this station will house the pink truck you see here that will eventually go on missions of hope and love to homes who have been touched by this deadly disease.
The ribbon tour will be a yearly event with the cities to be named each year. They will have shirts for sale and also ribbons to wear for the 25th, 26th, and the 27th of October, 2008.
If you are interested in participating or just learning more about them and their cause please visit pinkribbontour.com and www.myspace.com/pinkribbontour or send a quick e-mail to Dave Graybill @ dgraybill911@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
